I have this feeling that the show is going to get ridiculously idiotic by the end of the season (although not as dreadful as the other show with a bunch of crazy horny surgeons sans Kate Walsh), but hey, stupid plot plus remarkable fashion styling is exactly my kind of maths.

Seriously. When I first heard about the movie (yes, I didn’t read the book), I thought well I wouldn’t want to miss that. I love animals like totally love them. Except worms. They are small and weird and sticky and bendy.
Anyway, I then remembered about this one time when we were in KL, Ij wanted to watch I Am Legend at the panggung wayang, and so we did. I saw the poster beforehand and immediately noticed a dog next to Will Smith. Of course I knew something was going to be wrong. Animals and yours truly, we are gays.
So in the movie, Samantha the dog died. I cried like a baby like babi you see, all the way until the end of the movie. It was so embarassing because I actually sobbed and was all out of breath. Jeez. I was lucky we watched it Gold Class.
You think I am capable to watch the adorable Marley on screen? Ya, I don’t think so too.
Why not? Because. The damn dog dies too.
I am just like my mother. She’s so pethatically in love with Shahrukh Khan but refuses to watch any of his films as she knows that they’ll make her cry. We are a sad bunch, we know.
I am so going to miss the ever fabulous Nico Reilly, probably one of my favourite charaters on television. Sadly the show itself isn’t as fab.

On a lighter note, I’m loving the name Nico. Ij totally rejected the idea of naming our (not in the near future) daughter Nico. Nico Nico. Sounds great, no? Nico Ahmad. Yeah, Ij didn’t think so too.
*Tajuk di atas ialah terjemahan langsung bagi perkataan Inggeris Tropic Thunder. Saya pun tidak tahu bahawa ‘tropic’ bukan lah ‘tropika’ dalam bahasa Melayu.
Semalam kami telah ke panggung wayang Cathay di Cineleisure. Pergi pada hari Rabu kerana tiket berharga RM5 sahaja. Tidak perlu bayar mahal-mahal untuk tonton filem yang entahapapa. Telah saya jangka yang filem Tropic Thunder sangat lah bangang dan tidak berbaloi untuk ditonton. Walaupun ada Robert Downey Jr yang panas itu.
Kerana terlalu banyak perkataan-perkataan yang ganas ala carutan tanpa simpati, filem itu telah diganggu dengan pemotongan-pemotongan dialog oleh jabatan kerajaan yang kerja nya memotong. Toot, toot, toot, dan toot.

I cannot remember the last time I felt all tingly watching a fictional character on television. You know, the kind that motivates you to kiss the dusty screen. Or makes you think about a certain scene the whole night. And then you smile and be rewarded with a deep good sleep. I wanted to say that Aleksandr Petrovsky did give me the bumps, somehow I thought he lost it when he moved to Paris. Oh well.

Okay. Sebenarnya nak tulis tentang perkara lain. Tetapi memandangkan saya masih di dalam mood hanjingan, saya lebih senang memilih untuk maki hamun.
Dahulu, saya jarang tonton tv. Bukan sebab apa, rasa nya semua benda boleh kita jumpa dan layari di internet. Tambahan pula tayangan siri tv yang dari Amerika di sini agak terbelakang sekali. Lembap. Ij kata susah nak ada perubahan di Malaysia. Syarikat-syarikat besar macam ASTRO tiada saingan, maka tidak perlu lah mereka bersusah payah untuk memperbaiki produk dan servis.
Walau bagaimanapun, semenjak saya berhenti kerja tempoh hari, kehidupan saya sangat lah vosan. Saya pun mula menonton siri tv dari Amerika versi lanun Somalia.
Di antara sepuluh ribu karakter-karakter siri tv, mungkin kah ada yang anda terasa seperti ingin sepak atau terajang? Saya ada! Saya ada!
1. Betty Suarez
Masa di universiti, kami sanggup ponteng kelas semata-mata kerana tidak mahu terlepas tonton rancangan Yo Soy Betty La Fea. Best okay. Agak gembira saya apabila rancangan itu telah diAmerikakan. Pelakon utama pun namanya Amerika.
Saya tak nafikan America Ferrera sangat hebat. Cuma saya fikir adalah tidak logik untuk karakter Betty yang mempunyai kompleks ketidakselamatan (insecurity) boleh bertukar menjadi Gandalf / ahli sihir yang bijak pandai lalu sentiasa memberikan idea-idea yang kononnya sangat bernas kepada boss nya Daniel yang hampas berderai itu.
Paling hansuang ialah episod di mana Betty mencadangkan kepada boss nya untuk menganjurkan pertunjukan fesyen menggunakan model-model yang ’sihat’. I mean, come on. People avoid carbs for a reason, and that isn’t at all fun. If all they do is work the runway, that would be shit easy lah kan. Models do work hard to look fab beb. Tiba-tiba kau yang tak pernah peduli tentang imej nak semak-semak kenapa?
Helena Rubenstein pernah berkata – “There are no ugly women, just lazy ones.”
Heidi Klum jika tak disolek dan tak berusaha bermatian untuk kurangkan berat badan selepas melahirkan anak, akan tetap kelihatan seperti tapir.
Malas. Bila malas, kita tak patut dapat ganjaran. Atau pujian.
Begitu lah juga Betty. Beliau malas nak jaga rupa. Tak pernah kisah tentang refleksi diri dan kesan kepada majikan. Walaupun bekerja dengan majalah fesyen, tidak pernah dia peduli tentang fesyen.
Patut kah beliau berbangga dengan sikap beliau?
Nasib baik karakter-karakter lain dalam siri Ugly Betty sangat menghiburkan. Saya suka. Saya cinta kepada Marc dan Mandy. Saya juga sayang kepada Hilda dan Justin Suarez. Tidakkah anda rasa Ana Ortiz patut menang anugerah Emmy? Kelakar weh dia ni.
